Our management team operates from offices located in Los Angeles, and New York to actively identify and manage our portfolio companies, communicate with our investors, and grow and expand our network of industry veterans. Our executives are focused on identifying companies that we can help become more competitive, more profitable, and more sustainable enterprises.
Our executives develop capital structures that allow our portfolio companies to invest for growth and withstand economic downturns; and, work with management to improve the company to create long-term value for shareholders and other stakeholders.
Shabir Rahim
Shabir Rahim is a senior managing director and helped co-found SR Capital Partners. Prior to joining the firm, Shabir was a vice president in the mergers and acquisitions due diligence group at Duff & Phelps in Los Angeles. During his tenure at Duff & Phelps, Shabir managed transactions in several industries spanning: aerospace & defense, commercial goods manufacturing, consumer retail, media & entertainment, and restaurants. He specialized primarily in buy-side mergers and acquisitions due diligence for private equity acquirers (i.e., financial sponsors), but also has extensive experience on sell-side and carve-out transactions.
Shabir began his career as a structural aerospace engineer at The Boeing Company, on the prestigious U.S. Space Shuttle program. He went on to work in several other functional areas during his tenure at The Boeing Company. Shabir gained extensive experience in operations through his other roles in corporate development / business development, financial planning & analysis, cost accounting, production management, supplier management, and government contracts and pricing.
Shabir earned his M.B.A., with concentrations in Corporate Finance and Investments, from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He also holds both a B.S. and M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California. In addition, Shabir earned a Certificate in Accounting from the University of California Los Angeles. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and working with philanthropic organizations aimed at developing the youth and caring for the less fortunate, such as Junior Achievement of Southern California and the Aga Khan Development Network. Shabir is an avid golfer and licensed private pilot.
Shaffiq Rahim
Prior to co-founding SR Capital Partners, LLC, Mr. Rahim was a member of the Leveraged Finance group at Barclays Capital focused on Financial Sponsors. During his time at Barclays Capital, he has covered several industries, including: Industrials/Transportation, Media/Entertainment, Paper/Packaging, Technology and Telecommunications. Shaffiq's experience focuses on leveraged transactions, including: Leveraged Buyouts (LBOs), Management Buyouts (MBOs), Recapitalizations, Spinoffs, and Debt Financing for Non-Investment Grade Corporates.
Mr. Rahim's corporate experience includes a Business Development role for The Boeing Company's Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) at its Anaheim, CA location. In this role, Shaffiq was responsible for meeting with key Defense agency personnel from the United States and Foreign Governments to sell Boeing's capabilities through long-term development contracts. Prior to Boeing, Shaffiq was a business analyst for several software companies in the Orange County, CA area.
Mr. Rahim received his MBA degree with a concentration in Finance and Accounting from the University of Rochester (Simon) and graduated with a BS and MS degree in Computer Sciences from the California State Polytechnic University.
